Autism affects people of all races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and early support and access to resources can make a significant difference in helping individuals develop communication, social, and life skills.

Why We Need Community Partners

Knami’s Helping Hands is working to build an Autism Resource and Stimulation Center that will support autistic individuals and families throughout the Omaha metro community.

While we work toward securing land and developing our long-term center, we are actively giving back through community outreach programs, sensory supply drives, and autism awareness events.

To make this possible, we are inviting community volunteers and local sponsors to help us build meaningful relationships that support families affected by autism and developmental challenges.Together, we can begin building the support systems families need today, while working toward the center they deserve tomorrow.

Volunteer Opportunities

Community members can be local heroes and support our mission in several ways:

Community Outreach Members
Help connect Knami’s Helping Hands with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.

Event Support & Event Management
Assist with organizing autism awareness events, community outreach programs, and sensory supply drives.

Community Supply Drive Support
Help collect, organize, and distribute sensory items to families in need.

Delivery & Community Assistance Volunteers
Assist with delivering supplies and helping families access sensory tools and resources.

Community Awareness Advocates
Help raise awareness about autism resources and community support opportunities.

Sponsorship Matters And You Can Be the Difference

Sponsorships allow us to begin making a meaningful impact locally in communities before our center and out reach centers become available to the public.

Sponsor support helps us:

• Host Autism Community Pop-Up Events
• Raise funds to secure land reservations, equipment, and resources needed to host community events
Create birthday celebration grants for children and families in need
Support therapy animal and therapy pet programs
Provide family access grants for sensory-friendly experiences, including but not limited to :

  • We Rock the Spectrum Gymnasium memberships
  • Zoo passes
  • Autism-friendly community outings and experiences

These opportunities help families feel supported, included, and connected within their community.

Those Who Go Above and Beyond Deserve Notoriety!

Generous supporters play a vital role in helping bring the Autism Resource and Stimulation Center to life. Individuals, families, and organizations who make significant financial contributions will have the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy within the center.

Dedicated areas such as rooms, wings, or specialized resource spaces may be named in recognition of those whose support helps make these programs possible.

Sponsoring partners will also receive recognition during community events, with their contributions acknowledged on event materials, flyers, and outreach publications that highlight the supporters helping move the mission forward.

  • Specially Designed Therapy Centers

We aim to have on site play rooms and sensory safe zones where licensed ABA Therapists, professionally trained staff and volunteers can assist and cater to children who help with reducing problematic behaviors, improving social communication, and many other common daily living skills.

    -

Our on site centers will also include soft lighting, calming sounds, textured surfaces, and interactive equipment aimed at engaging a wide spectrum of different senses because each child is unique.

  • Classes and Courses

We will provide specialized training for parents, where parents will learn to provide essential skills that are needed to help their child reach their full potential, focus on communication, engagement, and daily living skills.

    -

Parents will also learn the habits and traits of individuals with autism, early signs of autism, and how to find evaluation centers and additional resources besides what we offer when in need.

  • Grants and Scholorships
